The other day my desktop finally succumb to old age. It was far from my primary computer (main one is still a macbook pro) but it did serve me well for 7+ years which is phenomenal. It's fate was to be used as a download box and a method of streaming tv for the past couple of years. Not much work did get done it but it served it's purpose. Although it occasionally has a heartbeat, it often just freezes and sits there, waiting for me to turn it off.

A few Links.....

As i'm still undecided regarding the 'about' section of the site, i opted to set up the links section first. I'm an avid user of Delicious, and use them quite extensively to keep track of my link portfolio.  A while back i was looking through their feature list for developers and came across the ability to use a tool of theirs to list your links via a feed process JSON JavaScript Object Notation. Using this i was able specify a tag and user and port any public links available into a column of a table in my link section. For more information regarding Delicious Feeds, check out this link.

After a week vacation.....

I'm finally back in Toronto after a week long vacation in Alberta enjoying the snowy peaks of the Rockies and the delicious beef of Calgary.  Now that I'm back I'm able to work on the site a bit, though i was still uploading while there using some very shaky access. I still have a few sections to decide upon. First being what i should put in my 'about' section.  How much detail to put in and what misc. info to include.  I may aslo re-orient how to subscribe via RSS and also include a links section to some other interesting blogs that i often follow. After these, hopefully these 'building' blogs will turn into more interesting life oriented blogs of just random interesting (hopefully) tidbits of information that i come across. 

And oh yes, i did take many a photo in Alberta. I'm slowly sifting through them. Currently the photo blog is comprised of the odd shot from the past 2 years, hopefully I'll have more  up to date photos as time comes along.

Google Adsense...check!.....

So since i probably require some revenue to fund this site, i decided to apply to Adsense a while back. Originally i had the site linked to my old web blog, however, Adsense did not approve of this and rejected my initial request. Since then i've actually updated this site a lot and forwarded it to the 'live' page.  Of course Adsense approved and now i have a few advertisements splashed around. I hope this doesn't take away from the content, but i've tried to orient what is being advertised to what i have encompassed in the blog as best as i can.

Lots more to do.....

After sleeping on it, i decided that i'd just have two "blogs" of sort within this website.  I'll have the traditional blog as you are reading here, as well as a 'photoblog' of sorts. Mind you both may be updated on occasion only and probably not at the same time, but at least this allows me to show some of my work without losing the integrity of a typical blog like atmosphere.  

The Photoblog will just have images taken during the normal course of life.  As i said, i'm just learning as i go here. Hopefully this will inspire me to learn more and take that next step.  

The blog itself will contain just daily ramblings of this and that. It's primary content of course will be image oriented. Whether it be regarding taking photos, a recent style i tried or just an event i attended. 

We'll see how this goes. I still have a lot of work to do. But i finally linked my domain to the site so i guess it's publishable to a certain extent. I still need to figure out some side bar elements and advertising elements.  This being said, i'm off to calgary next week so things may be on a hold for just a bit.
